You have a great one too! I wish my husband had the day off so he could watch every moment of something we weren't sure we'd ever see in our lifetime.
I just hope people understand Barack doesn't walk on water and cannot snap his fingers and make the world a better place instantly. It will take time and people need to be realistic. Whether Barack is the President or if it were McCain, this country was going down the drain and it would have been a really rough road for anybody taking charge. The key word is REALISTIC...we have to be realistic and supportive while the world is watching us "crawl" back to where the US should be, which is standing on 2 firm feet.
I am fiscally conservative, and believe that big government has caused all of our problems. Bush and congress were not for me either as they spent way more than they took in - devaluating the dollar. Politicians gain votes by promising so many things, yet never have the taxable base to cover so many programs. What we NEED are programs that train people and give them marketable skills, not ones that perpetuate reliance on government.
The housing crash in my mind was driven by horrible lending and banking practices of Fanny Mea and Freddie Mac driven by the Clinton administration, mortgage companies overselling with adjustable interest loans, and people just plain putting way to much on credit. We as a people have become much less agressive in education and technical outreach. Our economy is no longer driven by unskilled labor, and cannot be in a world economy that pays wages 1/10 of Americans.
With that said, I do wish our new president the best, and am very happy to see an African American in the White house. I think a woman president will be next!!
Unrehearsed, no scripts, real life as I know it. This 30-something mom/wife/college student/sister/daughter makes no apologies for talking about her children (love all 7 of them), the hubby (currently my favorite subject), and the not so peaceful world around me (laughter is the best medicine). So take a look, read and comment. I so enjoy the company!

I'm also watching the inauguration with the rest of the world! What a wonderful, moving speech.
Amen Akilah, Amen.
Thanks Christine!

Hey Kylie. You poor thing. What did you miss? They basically covered everything this morning on all the talk shows.
Sheri- You have a gift for making people feel good. You bet I am going to participate. :)
Speedcat - Well said man. I've couldn't have said it better myself.
Thanks BIBI!!
I was hoping my comment was not too over the top.
Yesterday was a beautiful day.
Not at all Speedcat. Not at all. It rang with truth and what we all need to hear!
